Hi Ya Geoff,As Sue say's this was a few years ago now, as I said in the beginning, this has taken a few years to get to this stage... The usual, time & money, never enough of each at the same time…
Anyway, we did find a builder who was glad of the top soil earth.... Not to far from us they were building a travel lodge and restaurant, so when we asked the builders did they want any top soil, his initial response was 'No Thanks mate' till we told him how many lorry loads we thought we had, (we estimated at least 4....
) he soon changed his tune….
We moved six full lorry loads… So we were grateful that we could dump this soil locally without having to travel to a land fill site or a place were it could be screened.
Fortunately, my brother drives a Grab Lorry, so I was able to get a good deal from his company for his days work…. Some things do work in your favour….
As you can see in the photos, my brother Steve was really glad we didn’t have to drive to another site, which could have been up to 20 miles away...!!!!
The last photo showing Deborah's relief that all that soil had finally gone from the drive.... Although, this was only temporary… We then had my bother deliver several lorry loads of builder’s sand, sharps and gravel…. It goes on…
