Poly pond have been today and the liner has been installed, i would reccommend this route to anyone, the pond looks fanastic.
Thanks also to Tim(sakura koi) for advice and equipment and also Paul/Jules (koikit).

Yep, Bob just start filling with water and backfill with concrete, then block and brick the top.
Still got to cut out the holes for skimmer and window also the returns have got to be cut in, which should arrive on Monday hopefully.

It was fairly simple the weather didn`t help, it was quite windy which hampered the welding a bit then we had a shower when they were about to start the excrussion weld.

Hi Daz very very impressed, not seen your other pic so please excuse these questions, is the base concreted with bottom drains in if so you would need to be very accurate with measurements wouldn't you or is there a simpler method of alining them? Also what other colours do they do, or are they like Fords, any colour as long as it's black?

The wall of the liner is 6mm thick, but will still have a block and brickskin above ground and 4"+ in the ground.
Len,
Yep bottom drains are concreted into base as normal and then holes are cut in on site, only difference is that i needed to float the base rather than tamp it.
The pond will be around 7000 to 7500 gals.

about 30 pence per gallon and 7000 gallons = £2100. Concrete backfill + plus above ground walls, but that is still a good price. A 7000 gallon pond to be professionally fibreglassed would be £20/metre minimum and I'd guess 7000 gallons surface area would be ine the region of 50 square metres.

Just looking at pic 7.... it appears that the drain area is benched.... is this the case or is it the light reflection ??

it`s a trick of the light,it`s flat going to the bottom drain, but drain has an excrusion weld.

Started filling today ready for backfilling.the metre reading 1313289 seven hours later and 12 inches of water later meter reading is 1377429, can anybody confirm how many gallons?
Only 5ft more to go!!
